Examining the quality of running water or life in a stream or river Life in a pond Life in a waterdrop
course description: Samples are taken from two different sections of a stream. Investigations: biological indicators, chemical water quality, calculate water quality, chemical parameters (nitrate, nitrite, phosphate and others if desired), tests with the so called phosphat-trap. In the pond nearby the kids fish with a net water animals. Depending on the seasons there are diverse insects in this standing water. If desired in the course also the plants will be included. creatures are inspected out of: a hays-infusion or: -the pond, (for example: algae like moon -, silcic -, filament -, bluealgea and volox. As well as animals like unicellular organism, slipper animalcule and more) or: - the contents of an aquarium´s pump.

10 binoculars(stereomicroscopes), several helps for identification, one camera for transmitting objects on the monitor. For the chemical value assignment the infocenter admits: photometre and vessel system. 10 binoculars(stereomicroscopes), modifying key for all creatures, modifying literature in a quantity of one schoolclass. 16 microscopes and supplies, identification books for one schoolclass.

life in the riverine forests life in the meadow excursion: ecology of the backwaters
course description: In the riverine forests several groups with specified jobs, collect material. Back at the infocenter the material is identified. There are the groups insects, plants, beaver and birds. For example they are looking for traces, bird voices, recognize a bird at flight and fill in a worksheet. At the meadow nearby, animals, (mainly insects) and plants are collected and identified. There are several kinds of spiders, beetles, ants, butterflies, bumblebees, worms, and so on. Concerning the plants there are: yarrow, valerian, rhinanthus, gagea, cirsium, chrysanthemum vulgare and so on. At an excursion the pupils get presented the birds of the European Nature Reserve. Thre are waterfowls: Heron, shelduck, green-winged teal, gadwall, garganey, northern shoveler, northern pintail, common tern, limicoles, lapwing, great cormorant and more. Birds in the riverine forests: blackcap, wrens, chaffinch, titmice, woodpecker, chiffchaff, cuckoo, kingfisher etc.
